DG Investment, launched in 2025, is the firm’s hedge fund strategy focused on delivering long-term, risk-managed returns while emphasizing capital preservation and tax efficiency. The strategy combines quantitative and fundamental analysis with active risk management and seeks to adapt to changing market conditions rather than simply maintaining a fixed level of market exposure.
As of the end of September 2026, DG Investment has generated a return of more than 40% year to date.
Leo Chen, PhD
Dr. Leo Chen is the Chief Investment Officer of DG Investment. His research integrates time-series analysis, stochastic calculus, and Brownian motion to examine market returns and underlying volatility. He also serves on the University of South Florida Retirement Investment Committee. Previously, he served as a board member of CFA Tampa Bay and as a member of the Financial Times Leadership Council.
Dr. Chen is a widely recognized market commentator whose insights have been featured in leading media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, Barron’s, USA TODAY, U.S. News, Morningstar, Newsweek, MarketWatch, Business Insider, The Independent, and Yahoo Finance. He is also a regular guest on various television networks and programs.
Lei Cheng, MS & MBA
Lei Cheng is the co-founder and CEO of DG Asset Management. Lei is a seasoned real estate investor and one of the leading real estate professionals in the Tampa Bay area. Ranked among the top 50 of more than 25,000 real estate agents in the region, placing him in the top 0.2%, Lei has built extensive experience across real estate sales, investment, and property management. With more than a decade of industry experience, Lei has completed over 700 real estate transactions with a total transaction value exceeding $220 million. Today, he leads a team managing more than 700 rental properties, with operations spanning real estate sales, property management, investment, and AI-driven technology.
Lei is the founder and leader of Service Near Team, one of the fastest-growing real estate and property management teams in the Tampa Bay area. In recognition of his performance and innovation, he received the 2024 Rising Star Award and the 2025 Innovator Award from Tampa Bay Real Producers.
